Christine Adams

  • Provides personal and confidential secretarial support to the Graduate Advisor
  • Communicates with applicants about their application status
  • Evaluates student transcripts
  • Liaises with the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Enrolment Services and OGPR
  • Maintains student files
  • Acts as liaison between faculty members and graduate students
  • Coordinates processing of SSHRC/UGF and other scholarship and award applications
  • Serves as Secretary to the Graduate Program Advisory Committee and PhD Management Committee

  • Handles front desk telephone and in person enquiries
  • Makes classroom and meeting room bookings/reservations
  • Serves as secretary to EADM and SCPE program areas
  • Serves as Secretary to the EDST 314 Coordinator and Teacher Education Committee
  • Compiles applications for Space Allocation Committee and TEO courses
  • Assists visitors, sessional instructors and TAs with orientation to the building facilities
  • Is responsible for all textbook orders, distribution of class lists and collection of course outlines
  • Maintains and updates departmental website

  • Provides confidential senior secretarial and administrative support to the Head
  • Acts as liaison to senior officials, internal and external institutions
  • Coordinates hiring and promotion of faculty members
  • Prepares and maintains documents and files on new faculty positions, periodic review and study leaves for faculty
  • Serves as liaison and processes appointments for visiting scholars and post-doctoral fellows
  • Serves as Secretary to the EDST Tenure and Promotion Committee
  • Maintains records of faculty workloads
  • Administers faculty/staff directory updates
  • Invoices users of telephone and photocopying facilities

  • Responsible for the management of all administrative and financial aspects of EDST, and reports to the Head
  • Manages and supervises secretarial and clerical staff
  • Liaises with Deputy Head and TEO regarding course scheduling
  • In consultation with the Deputy Head, coordinates hiring and appointment of sessional instructors and graduate students
  • In consultation with the Deputy Head, organizes teaching loads for faculty, sessional instructors and GTAs
  • Liaises with the Executive Committee on Space Allocation and Appointment of GAAs
  • Liaises with individual Faculty members on appointment of GRAs
  • Maintains research and special account files for faculty

  • Processes journal vouchers and cash receipts
  • Processes Professional Development Fund requests

Jeannie Young

  • Sorts incoming mail, maintains mail slots for faculty/staff, emeriti faculty and student mail folders, sessional/adjunct instructors and Post-docs
  • Books and maintains AV equipment, inventory control and bulletin boards
  • Maintains photocopy machines
  • Maintains inventory of stationery and office supplies
  • Serves as ADHE Diploma and Program Secretary; EdD Program Secretary
  • Enters grades for all undergraduate and graduate courses
  • Assists Administrative Manager with: building maintenance facilities and attending Safety Committee meetings; first aid attendant and Sustainability Coordinator for the department
